Xeriscaping is the process of landscaping or gardening that reduces or eliminates the need for supplemental water from irrigation. This part of the bed was merely rocks to prevent weeds from coming up and looked bare. The client wanted to add some color but wanted little maintenance. Plants suitable for rock gardens and low growing plants which require little to no water were chosen and planted based on height and spread. Taller plants towards the back and smaller, spreading plants to the front. Water is required to establish the planting, but once established, plants will thrive with little attention.
